Application
Powder fire extinguishers (PFE) are intended for extinguishing fires caused by the agents as follows:
- Solid substances (A),
- Flammable liquids (В),
- Flammable gas (C),
- Electrical equipment (Е).
Powder fire extinguishers are multi-use and low-value items. They are applicable for extinguishing fires occurred at manufacturing and flammable agent storage facilities, vehicles and public rooms.
But such extinguishers have some significant drawbacks – they are not intended for extinguishing powder-sensitive unit fires. Besides, the extinguisher locking device has rather complicated design and cylinder pressure should be continuously controlled.
As for the extinguisher rating, class A fires are not limited since Yarpozhinvest LLC currently uses ABC powders only (Vekson АВС-25 and Foscon 430 АВС).
Product Range: Portable and Mobile Powder Fire Extinguishers
Our company, Yarpozhinvest LLC’s authorized representative, offers a full line of original powder fire extinguishers:
- Portable powder fire extinguishers (GOST R 51057-2001) charged with 1 to 10 kg agent PFE-1, PFE-2, PFE-3, PFE-4, PFE-5, PFE-6, PFE-8, PFE-10,
- Mobile powder fire extinguishers (GOST Р 51017-2009) charged with 25 to 100 kg agent: PFE-25, PFE-35, PFE-50, PFE-70, PFE-100.
Fire extinguishers are made of domestic cylinder units that ensure high quality of the final product.
Marine and river fleets are equipped with our powder fire extinguishers (PFE-2, PFE-3, PFE-4, PFE-5, PFE-6, PFE-8, PFE-10) duly certified and validated by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
Powder Fire Extinguisher Delivery Set
Fire extinguishers are fitted with a respective fire extinguishing agent feeding device:
- Portable 1-3 L fire extinguishers — nozzle on a lock-release device;
- Portable 4-10 L fire extinguishers — hose with a nozzle (0.45m);
- Mobile 25-1000 L fire extinguishers — >hose with a nozzle (3.0m);
Quality and Certificates
All powder fire extinguishers subject to delivery meet GOST and Technical Regulation fire safety requirements (123 - FA dated 22.07.2008); they have passed throughout all design, manufacturing and certification stages in accordance with the applicable procedure and they are available in the market.
Service Life and Recharging Period
Fire extinguishers have a 10 year service life (including recharging). Cylinder pressure is controlled by means of a built-in indicator. Fire extinguishers should be recharged every 5 years regardless of indication. Fire extinguishers are to be discarded after expiration of its service life.
Important Information
- A powder fire extinguisher locking device is fitted with a cylinder pressure control indicator. If a pointer is inside a green zone, it indicates rated pressure. With temperature increased, the pointer goes to a yellow zone though this is not a critical state. A locking device is secured with a lead seal. The lead seal contains the details of its ID and date in the month-year format (FPR, Section 477 as amended on 17.02.2014).
- In addition to the data listed in GOST, a manufacturer’s bar code is printed on a label. It is necessary to indicate powder type and grade. Date of production (handwriting is allowed) is specified at the label bottom.
When using powder fire extinguishers the following precautions should be observed:
- Fire extinguisher housing is pressurized.
- When extinguishing electric fire, a funnel should be held at the distance of at least 1 m;
- On using a fire extinguisher, thoroughly ventilate a space.
